Mark Edward Trivison, 83, of Dunbar, passed away on July 8, 2012, at his home.
Mark was born in Rochester, NY. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and served his country as an officer in the United States Navy, during the Korean War. He came to the Kanawha Valley in 1954 and worked at Union Carbide's Institute Plant for 32 years.
Mark was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Mary D. "Dixie" Trivison; and his parents, Mark and Anne Marie. Mark was a very active member of Christ the King Church, serving on the finance committee and the Diocesan Pastoral Council. He was a long time member of the Charleston Serra Club promoting vocations for the priesthood and the Knights of Columbus. He had a special passion for coordinating Christ the King's annual spaghetti dinner. Upon retirement he also dedicated his time to Meals on Wheels for 20 years. Mark loved the game of golf, playing rounds with his cronies at Sleepy Hollow Golf Club for over 30 years. He also enjoyed bowling in the Dunbar Senior Bowling League, spending time woodworking, gardening, reading and traveling.
Surviving are his sons, Mark E. Trivison II of Dunbar, James R. Trivison (Jamie) of Scott Depot; daughter, Elizabeth A. White (Beth) of Dunbar; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Mark is also survived by his wife of 16 years, Arlene Trivison; her daughters, Debbie Pritt of South Charleston and Donna Dent (deceased); five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5:30 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Christ the King Church, Dunbar. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Father Dean Borgmeyer officiating.
