Marlene Stalcup Vaughan, 90, of Hemet, California passed away on July 24, 2023.

She was born on June 7, 1933 to the late Lincoln Elmer Stalcup and Mary Dena Baute Stalcup in Blair, West Virginia.

After graduating high school, Marlene worked for GTE for over 30 years until retiring in 1986.  She loved to travel, and spend time with her family.  Marlene also enjoyed keeping many fruit trees, and attending to her roses.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her only child Mark Stephen Vaughan; sisters, Hazel Stalcup Burgoyne, Violet Stalcup Heuer, Lucille Stalcup Thompson, Ruth Stalcup Atkins, Mossie Stalcup; brothers, Frank Stalcup, James Stalcup, Lincoln Elmer Stalcup Jr., Curtis Stalcup, and Edgar Stalcup; and her best friend, Jannet Hodson.

Marlene is survived by her granddaughter, Melissa Vaughan (Cory Chennault) of Oceanside, California; special niece, Martha Stalcup Gala (Joseph) of Phoenix, Arizona; nieces, Melissa Atkins Allen of West Virginia, and Charon Heuer of Maryland; sister-in-law, Teiko Stalcup of Columbus, Ohio; and a host of other nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. Burial will be follow at Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.

Family will receive visitors from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
