Martha Virginia Black Taylor, 88, of Charleston, died peacefully on June 6, 2008, at home.
She was born April 20, 1920, to Andrew Hunter Black and Laura Mathews Black in Kanawha County. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Homer E. Taylor, Sr., in 2005 and by sisters, Mrs. Isabelle Tate, Mrs. Kate Lightner, Mrs. Mary Guthrie and brother, Thomas Black.
Her daughters, Janet (Richard) Hanlon, Barbara (Charles) Frazier and Martha Shorr, all of Charleston, survive her. Sons, Homer (Margie) Taylor, Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio and Jeffrey Alan Taylor of Charleston also survive her. Also surviving are grandchildren, Robert (Glenna) Hammack, Jr. of Pinch, David Taylor of Jackson, Wyoming, Doug (Ellen) Taylor of Dayton, Ohio, Jeanne (Mike) Frelich of Pinch, Mary Beth (Thomas) Johnson of Cincinnati, Ohio and Gretchen (Thomas) Barrera of Spring, Texas. Her surviving great grandchildren are Steven (Sandra) and Andrew Hammack of Pinch, Jessica, Kyle and Alyson Taylor all of Jackson, Wyoming, Jake and Shane Taylor of Dayton, Ohio, Thomas, Michael, Rebekah and Patrick Johnson of Cincinnati, Ohio and Isaac Barrera of Spring, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, June 9, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, conducted by Pastor Pete Thompson. Burial will follow at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, June 8, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar where there will be an Order of Eastern Star Service by Chapter 131, South Charleston, at 7p.m.
