Mary Louise
Anderson
May 1, 1932 – July 29, 2020
Mary Louise Anderson, 88, of Charleston, passed away on July 29, 2020. She was a resident of East Brook Nursing Home since January 8, 2016.
She was born to the late, Gove and Wavie McGinnis of Raleigh County.
Mary loved the Lord and she truly believed that she would one day go to heaven and live with Jesus. She looked forward to see her parents and her siblings again. Mary loved to read the Bible, sing and play her guitar. These things she never forgot. She may not have remembered her name or anyone else's, but she could quote the scriptures from her Bible. That part of her brain stayed in tact. Mary died from Alzheimers, as did all her siblings. She was the third child out of five and she was lucky enough to outlive all of them. She also out lived her three husbands. Her ex husband Chester Turner and Carl Todd.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Anderson; sisters, Quinnie Richmond of Twighlight, Marie Tucker of Charleston and Esta Whitman of Charleston; brother, Lowell McGinnis of Alaska.
Mary is survived by her five children, Elizabeth McKinney (Dennis), Charles Turner , Clarice Lenart (Robert), Brenda Cochran (Steve) and Carl Todd; and 10 grandchildren. She was also blessed to have a wonderful angel and caregiver for a nurse, her beautiful granddaughter, Gail Booth who took care of her around the clock for the days before her departure.
For anyone and everyone who helped to care for our mom - May God bless each and everyone of you, Rest in piece Mom…WE LOVE YOU!
Special thanks to all the medical staff of East Brook for helping our loved one on her journey to a better place. We will be eternally grateful for that.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, August 3, at Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston.
Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
