Mary Grandstaff Bader, 85, of Dunbar, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2008, at Valley Center after an extended illness.
She was a retired credit manager for the former Sloan's Dept. Store in Dunbar. Mary was also a member of the Dunbar United Methodist Church and the Dunbar Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. She was a native of Wheeling and had been a long time Dunbar resident.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Bader, her brothers, Ralph Arden, Kenneth Paul and Herald Arthur Grandstaff and by her sisters, Martha Lee and Erma Edith Grandstaff.
Surviving are her sons, J. Michael Bader of Kill Devil Hills, NC and John A. Bader and his wife, Arnelda "Chris" of Rock Branch; daughter, Susan B. Levie of Dunbar; grandchildren, Joseph B. Levie of Fla. and Jennifer F. Levie of NH, and Emily B. Thornton of Tenn; three great grandchildren; brother, Russell Grandstaff and his wife, Anne of MI. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, December 9, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Dr. Okey B. Harless, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, December 8, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
