Mary Katherine Cook, 59, passed away January 14, 2015 at Hubbard Hospice House after a long battle with cancer.
She was a Licensed Practical Nurse whose career spanned 40 years. She retired from Saint Francis Hospital after 30 years of service and culminated her career at ResCare providing care to the mentally and physically disabled.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Edna and William L. Workman; brother, Jimmy Workman; and sister, Peggy Workman all of Boomer.
She is survived by her husband, Harry Joe Cook of Winfield; sisters, Louise and husband, Jack Case, of Fayetteville, Barbara and husband, Brian Parrott, of Elkview, Dee and husband, Les Bolen, of Ghent; brother, William Workman and wife, Ricky, of Gurnee, IL; stepchildren, Chelsea, Amber and Derrick Cook; grandchildren, Isabella and Phoenix; niece, Kristi Case; and nephews, Dustin Parrott and Jason Workman.
Deep appreciation goes to all that provided her care.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 20, at Blessed Sacrament in South Charleston with Father John Finnell officiating. Burial will follow in Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Institute.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, January 19 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
