Mae Corbin, 90, of Dunbar, formerly of Hurricane, went home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, Jan. 6, 2006. She attended Kings River Worship Center, St. Albans.
She and her husband, Argel, were proprietors of the 20th Street Grocery Store, in Dunbar, during the 1940's. She also was employed by Fletcher Enamel Works. Later she became a homemaker and mother.
Friday, she joined for eternity, her parents, Wilbur L. and Willa Slayton Burgess; siblings, Betty Helems, Bill Burgess, Carolyn Burgess, Helen Hammons and Midge Jones.
She is survived by her husband, Argel; daughter, Debbie Cunningham, granddaughter, Caitlin and son-in-law, Bill Cunningham of Dunbar. Also surviving are her siblings, Carl Burgess and his wife, Mary Ann of Dunbar, Charles and his wife, Hazel of South Charleston, Denver Burgess of Sea Harbor, CA, Donald Burgess and his wife, Geraldine of Conway, SC, James Burgess and his wife, Joann of South Charleston and Robert Burgess and his wife, Lou of Sissonville. She is also survived by her beloved Yorkiepoo, "Daisy."
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 10, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor Chuck Smith officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park in Dunbar.
Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 9th at Keller Funeral Home in Dunbar.
