Obituary

Mary "Mae" Dixon was called home to be with our Lord and Savior, Thursday, October 23, 2014. She passed away peacefully at Eastbrook Center.

She was born in Staunton, Virginia on September 8, 1915.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Shirley G. Dixon, who died January 31, 1987.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Shirley Mae Farkas-Dixon, whom she lived with in Dunbar; son, David Howard Dixon of Charleston; two granddaughters, Terri Lee Farkas of Dunbar and Debbie Farkas (Camp) of Oregon.

" Don't grieve for me, for now I'm Free.
I'm following the path God has chosen for me.
I took his hand when I heard him call I left it all.
For now I've found peace at the end of the day.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
But look for the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I've savored much.
Don't lengthen your pain with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and Peace to thee.
God wanted me now. He set me free.

Although you may feel a bit torn apart,
please know that I'll always be in your heart.
Now fly like Butterflies as you can go,
I'm right there with you, more than you know."

A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston. The procession will leave Keller Funeral Home at 2 p.m.

Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. on Monday at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
