Mary Catherine Hermansdorfer, 69, of Dunbar peacefully passed away on November 11, 2025 at Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC).

Mary was born on June 26, 1956, to the late Paul Abraham and Betty Anne Hermansdorfer.  She grew up in Dunbar, WV where she lived most of her life. She was a member of Dunbar United Methodist Church.

Mary was a graduate of Dunbar High School and West Virginia State College earning a Bachelor's Degree in Library Science.  Mary worked at the Dunbar Public Library and Rite Aid for many years.  Mary retired from Harry Jarrett security firm in Charleston, following 20 years of service.

Mary enjoyed traveling with family to Myrtle Beach and watching West Virginia and Marshall sporting events.  She also enjoyed spending time with friends and family at numerous events in the area like the Sternwheel Regatta.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her siblings, Joan Shawver, Paul and John Hermansdorfer.

She is survived by her nephews, Michael Wayne Shawver (Theresa) of Myrtle Beach, SC; children, Carrie Elizabeth Shawver of Vernal, Utah, Christopher Scott Shawver (Darcey) of Conway, SC; children, Noah and Harlan Shawver, Timothy Allen Hermansdorfer (Karla) of St. Albans, WV; children, Blake and Alayna Hermansdorfer; and nephew, Dr. Paul Andrew Hermansdorfer of Huntington, WV.

The family would like to thank the staff at CAMC for caring for Mary over the last several weeks.

Family will welcome friends from 12:00 - 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in Sunset Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Dunbar United Methodist Church at 1401 Myers Avenue, Dunbar, WV 25064.
