Obituary

Mary E. "Sally" Parsons, 80, of Dunbar, passed away at Thomas Memorial Hospital on Saturday, October 7, 2006, after a short illness.

She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and caregiver to her husband. She will be greatly missed by family, friends and fellow bridge partners.

Sally along with her husband, Don, were owners of Parsons Floor Covering in Dunbar for 35 years. She was a long standing member of Humphreys Memorial United Methodist Church, where she was an active member of the A-C Women's Circle serving as Secretary/Treasurer and was Treasurer of United Methodist Women. Sally loved playing bridge and was an avid player in three bridge clubs.

She leaves behind her husband of 60 years, Donald D. Parsons. She is also survived by daughter, Judy Clendenin and husband, Larry of Hurricane, sons, Don "Bud" Parsons and wife, Pam of Cross Lanes, Bruce Parsons and wife, Eileen of Mission Viejo, California; grandchildren Mitchell Clendenin and wife, Sherry of Spring Hill, Tennessee, Bryan Clendenin of Lyons, Colorado, Emily Lopez and Marie Parsons of Cross Lanes, Corey and Casey Parsons of Mission Viejo, California; as well as great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Lopez and great-grandson, Aaron Joshua Clendenin. She also is survived by her brother, Joe Gillespie and wife, Dot, of Belmead, Tennessee, sister, Frances Hill of Winfield, sister-in-laws, Doris (David) Gillespie of Circleville, Ohio, Wanda Parsons Ross and husband Roy of Florida, brother-in-law, Lester Parsons and wife, Marnie of Tennessee and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 12, at Humphreys Memorial United Methodist Church, Dunbar at 11:00 am, with the Rev. Okey Harless officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston.

Friends and family may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, October 11, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
