Mary A. Roberts, 79, of Nitro, passed away after a lengthy illness on Friday, December 2, 2022.

She was born on August 1, 1943 to the late Everett and Sylvia Shawver Cadle of Tyler Mountain. Mary was a Christian and lived her life in a way that reflected her love for God.

Mary was a kind and big-hearted person who greatly loved her family. She was exceedingly happy and proud of her children and her grandchildren. She loved to cook and looked forward to having friends and family over to eat. She loved to travel and was fortunate enough to visit several places including Scotland, Hawaii, England, and Alaska. Her flamingo collection rivaled anyone's in the area.

She is preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Richard R. Roberts; her sister, Frances Gambrel of Corbin, Kentucky; her brothers, Henry Cadle of Tyler Mountain, Bob Cadle, of Melbourne, Florida, and Raymond Cadle of Tyler Mountain.

She is survived by her son, Richard Mark Roberts (Sherdena) of Gray, TN; daughters, Debra Webster (David) of Saint Albans, and Patty Blake (Michael) of Pliny; several grandchildren, Ashley Roberts of Nitro, Natalie Lykens (Jason) of Nitro, Benjamin Roberts (Makayla) of Nitro, Ian Webster (Amy) of Charleston, Richard Campbell (Caren) of Hurricane, Mouin Tannous (Alexis) of Kanehoe, HI, Mary Webster (Fiancee, Ryan Watts) of South Charleston, and Alison Roberts of Gray, TN; sisters-in-law, Janet Wright (David) of Rural Hall, NC, and Frances Cadle of Tyler Mountain; brother-in-law, Jimmy Carnes of Saint Albans; and several nieces and nephews who she loved deeply. Last, but not least, she leaves behind her special little dog and true blessing Bill.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, December 5, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar , with Elder Joe Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Forrest Memorial Park, Milton.

Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
