Mary Louise Schaible, 94, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 6, 2012, at her home, surrounded by many friends and family who loved her deeply.
Mary was born on the 26th of October, 1917 in Dunbar. She was the daughter of Lena Finney and Ulysses Bowen. She was a mother and grandmother to everyone she met. In her lifetime she raised ten children of her own and countless others that consider her an honorary mother and grandmother. We were very blessed to have had her with us for 94 memory filled years, but now her work on earth is done. We have gained another star in the sky and a guardian angel in Heaven.
She held only one job in her lifetime. It was the full-time job of being the best mother and grandmother in the world. She gave a piece of her heart to everyone she ever met, but she always found more to give.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Schaible and two sons, Edward "Sonny" Schaible and Donald "Bunny" Schaible.
Mary is survived by a large family who love and miss her more than words can say. Surviving her are five sons, Kenny Schaible, Roy Schaible, Walter Schaible, Dennis and his wife, Barbara Schaible, all of Dunbar, and Joe and his wife, Barbara Schaible of St. Albans. She has three daughters, Alice and her husband, Fred Hill of Jackson, Ohio, Wanda and her husband, Gregory Igo of Dunbar and Linda Schaible of Dunbar and daughter-in-law, Carma Schaible of St. Albans. She was also blessed with 17 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren, all of whom she treasured with all her heart.
The family would like to say a special thank you to our angel on earth, April Workman. She has been by our side and dedicated many hours to loving and caring for our mother. Mary always called April her daughter and she will forever be a member of our family.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, February 9, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Paul Young officiating. Burial will follow in Finney-Schaible Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, February 8, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
