Mary Frances "Witchie" Sargent, 91, of Dunbar, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Sweetbriar Assisted Living in Dunbar after a short illness.

She was born on November 15, 1933 in Charleston, later she moved to Dunbar when she was five years old.

Mary graduated from Dunbar High School in 1951, Immediately following graduation she went to work for United Fuel Gas Company retiring after 30 plus years. Her favorite hobby was going to yard sales.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Syl and Minnie Clendenin; mother, Thelma Underwood; sister, Betty Miller; and niece, Penny Cottrill.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Kenneth Sargent; niece, Debbie Armstrong of FL; nephew, Rick Sergent of FL; and many great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank their neighbors and friends who have reached out in various ways to help out in a time of need.

A special thanks to her sisters-in-law, Wanda Mynes and Loretta Jividen for assisting in Mary's care and to the workers at Sweetbriar Assisted Living and Hospice for their devoted care.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m on Saturday May 31 at Keller
Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor Kristi Newman officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.

Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
