Melanie Ann Dixon-Miller, 51, died May 28, 2011 in a Suffolk, VA hospital.
A native of Charleston, West Virginia, she was a 1978 graduate of Charleston High School.
She was employed at Verizon Virginia and was a member of CWA Local 2022. Melanie enjoyed sewing, quilting and her long hair Chihuahuas.
Survivors include her parents, Robert Joseph Dixon and Ruth A. Dixon of Chesapeake, VA; three sisters, Jeanine Snodgrass of Charleston, Colleen Ghanem and Teresa Dixon of Chesapeake; one brother, Richard Dixon of Virginia Beach, VA; nieces and nephews, Michael, Christian, Todd, Casey, Morgan, Isabela, Devon and Adaliah; former husband, Bobby Ingle; dear friend, Regina Lawrence-Peele; and her dogs, Sweetie, Carmella and Chie Chie.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, June 3, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 2, at the Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
Melanie gave the "gift of sight" by donating her corneas and contributions to a Lion's Club Eye Bank would be appreciated.
