Michael Leonard Estes, 72, of Charleston, departed this life on March 29, 2023.

He was born February 4, 1951 in Charleston, to the late Warren and Claudia M. Estes.

Michael was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School and was known for the best dresser wearing three piece suits to class everyday. He started working for Frankenberger Department Store after he graduated and managed his own department, selling mens suits and apparel. Michael later joined the Army and served 20 years and retired as a SFC.

He enjoyed going to his favorite spot (McDonalds) for dinner and a movie with his baby brother and sister once a month and their dream trip; going to see the Pittsburgh Steelers vs Cincinnati Bengals pro football game in Ohio. He also enjoyed boxing.

Michael loved the Lord. He enjoyed reading his Bible to the sick and shut-in and helping people who needed his help and support. He lived his later days to the fullest and will be truly be missed by those he showed his love and support to.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Warren E. "Oui" Estes.

Michael is survived by his daughters, Takela Vaden (BJ) of Newberry, FL, Claudia Webb (Benjamin) of Pemberton, NJ; sister, Denise Tate (Roland) of Winston Salem, NC; sister-in-law, Trienna Estes of Charleston. He leaves to cherish his memories and legacy of life to his grandchildren, Trey, Isaiah, and Zoe Vaden of Newberry, FL, Marley Webb of Pemberton, NJ; and his nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor BJ Vaden officiating.

Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
