Sgt. Michael Phillip Morris, 31, of St. Albans, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2008, at his home.
He was a graduate of St. Albans High School and attended WV State College. Michael was also a graduate of the WV State Police Academy and was serving as a Deputy Sheriff for the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department. He was a member of the Deputy Sheriffs Association and was a licensed ham radio operator.
Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, former Charleston Police Chief, Lawrence H. and Evelyn P. Morris and Herbert H. and Dosha Ada Paul and by his uncle, Larry W. Morris.
Left to cherish his memory and mourn his passing are his loving parents, former Kanawha County Chief Deputy Phillip L. and Elizabeth Ann Morris and by his special companion, Jennie Totten and his constant loving little Maltese, Sugie. Also surviving are his uncle, Herbert H. Paul and aunts, Dianne Salyers and Margie Sadler and her husband, Chuck.
Funeral services to honor his memory will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, March 28, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Archie Snedegar officiating. Entombment will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park.
