Michael Edward Sampson, 62, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 5, 2011.
Mike was born in Dunbar on January 1, 1949. He was injured in service to our country during the war in Vietnam. His injuries eventually resulted in his passing. Mike was a loving and godly man who took great pleasure in bringing joy to those that he loved. His gentle nature and quick wit was evident throughout his life. His character and grace in dealing with his disabilities will forever be an inspiration to his family and friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his grandmother, Dora "Maw Maw" Sampson.
He is survived by his sister, Marna Sue Pauley of Pinch, WV; his only son, Michael Edward, II "Mickey" lives in Gloucester, Va. with his wife, Joy and four wonderful grandchildren, Michael Edward, III, "Mick," Dustin "Dusty," Cheyenne and Regan and another granddaughter who will be born in August.
Visitation with the family is scheduled for 11 a.m., Friday, April 8, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Grandview Memorial Park.
