Michael Nelson Wingett "Mike", 49, of St. Albans, formerly of Dunbar, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023 from complications due to a short battle with cancer.

He was born on May 20, 1974, in Dunbar, to Jerry and Linda Wingett.

Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an avid WVU fan. He loved to make whoever was around to laugh at his animated jokes that he told over and over. He enjoyed picking on his younger brothers, nieces and nephews. He loved to spend time with his son Michael and was a very proud father.

Mike was preceded death by his father, Jerry Wingett; wife, Michelle Wingett; and both sets of grandparents.

He is survived by son, Michael Wingett of Elkview; grandchildren, Rylee Wingett, Jace Wingett of Elkview; mother, Linda Wingett, of St Albans; brothers, David Wingett (April) of South Charleston, Kevin Wingett of St. Albans; brother-by-choice, PeeWee, who always had Mike's back; step-children, Sierra, Cassie, and Josh, all of Cross Lanes; and several step-grandchildren, nieces nephews, aunts and uncles.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, November, 30, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor Jamie Strickler officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.

Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
