Obituary

Mildred Meadows Atkins, of St. Albans passed away at Hubbard Hospice House West on November 29, 2016.

She was born in Charleston on March 11, 1926, a daughter to the late Robert (Bob) and Ada Smith Meadows.

Mildred was a member of Abney St. Church of God, St. Albans.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Siegel Atkins; daughter, Pam K. Strickland, infant daughter, Billie Sue Hamonds,; sister, Mae Wilson; brothers, Gene Corbie and James Maxie Meadows.

Mildred is survived by her sister (caregiver), Dreama Turley of Cross Lanes; brothers, PaulD. And wife, Linda, of Belle and Dempsey (Jack) and wife, Adele of Sumter, South Carolina; gransons, Jeremy and wife, Tamara of St. Albans and Brandon Harpold of Missouri; great grandson, Andrew Harpold of St. Albans.

The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff of Hospice for the love and care they gave to Mildred during her illness.

Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Pastor Jack Lawrence officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
