Obituary

Mildred Virginia Booher, 94, of Spring Hill, passed away Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, at Sunbridge Care & Rehabilitation for Dunbar.

Mrs. Booher was the great great great granddaughter of Fleming Cobbs, the first settler of the Kanawha Valley. She was well known for her wonderful cooking and her home was the meeting place for all of her family, friends and neighbors. Mrs. Booher was a member of the Church of Christ in Spring Hill.

Surviving are her sons, James B. Booher and Thomas E. Booher of South Charleston; sister, Hilda Barker of South Charleston and a close family friend, Robert Thompson of Scott Depot. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Mildred E. Holstein, Vanessa S. Bryan, Kimberly S. Horner, Gregory L. Booher and Mark E. Booher, who lived with her and cared for her for 24 years; great grandchildren, Sean S. McCallister, James G. McCallister and Jessica M. Booher.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 16, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Minister Sean S. McCallister officiating. Burial will follow in Bailey-Cobb Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 15, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to Betty Knuckles, Liz Richards and Linda Neil who were so faithful to visit and care for Mrs. Booher.
