Obituary

Mildred Hall, 81, of St. Albans, gained her angel wings on Tuesday, June 25, 2019.

She was born on August 22, 1937 in Ensley, AL, to the late Derry Lee and Willa Mae Bailey Jewett.

Helping raise her siblings, Mildred and her family moved to West Virginia. She attended Garnett High School, where she was a majorette. Shortly after she met and married the love of her life, William (Bolum) Hall, they had seven beautiful children.

Mildred was a homemaker and she worked in fencing industry at Fletcher. She was a selfless, thoughtful, caring woman, who was full of life. Mildred had a great sense of humor. She was a loving wife, mother, granny, sister, aunt, and friend. She never knew a stranger and was supportive of everyone, especially her grandkids. She will be missed by everyone whose life she touched.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Hall; daughters, Sharon "Dojay" Hall, Deborah "Debbie Doo" Hall; brothers, Derry Jewett Jr., Robert Lee Jewett, Willie James Jewett; and sister, Helen Jewett Cherry.

She is survived by her children, Peggy Hall (Garvey) of Institute, William "Pooney" Henry Hall Jr. of St. Albans, Tyrone Hall (Leslie) of Seattle, WA, Cheryl Hall of Dunbar, Brian Hall (Christina) of St. Albans, Amber Hall of Charleston; sisters, Thelma Franklin of California, Dorothy Hicks of Ohio; and a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 8, at Metropolitan Baptist Church, Charleston with Pastor Letari Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar.

Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at the church.

Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
