Obituary

Minnie Mae Hatfield of Dunbar, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 9, 2012 following a short illness at the Dunbar Rehabilitation Center.

She was born 95 years ago at Glen, West Virginia, the daughter of Newton Harvey and Margaret Ruth Mullins. She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Reverend George Lester Cantrell, to whom she was married for 43 years, her second husband, Ballard Hatfield, to whom she was married for 8 years and one grandson.

Minnie leaves behind her four children: Donald F. Cantrell and wife, Frances of South Charleston, Charles E. Cantrell and wife, Irene of Procious, Carol Casto and husband, Tom of Poca, and Rose Quigley and husband, Albert of Dunbar; 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter; a brother, Frank Mullins and his wife, Leona of Ansted; and a host of relatives and friends.

The family will be greeting guests at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, on Thursday, April 12, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Her funeral will be at Keller Funeral Home on Friday, April 13, 2012, at 2:30 p.m. with the Reverend Marvin Welch and the Reverend Darris Barker officiating. She will be buried in the Flem Mullins Cemetery at Falling Rock, West Virginia following a short graveside service.

Her children wish to thank her long-time caregiver and friend, Roberta Carroll, whom our Mom adored and her good friend, Clemmie Shamblin. We also wish to sincerely thank the 300 Hall of the Dunbar Rehabilitation Center for their loving care of our Mother during her stay there.
