Minnie Elizabeth Turley, 82, of Dunbar passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2015.
She was born on June 5, 1932 in her home in Dunbar to Homer and Mickie Robinson.
Minnie was a hard working wife and mother. She helped raise all 7 of her grandchildren and other children in the neighborhood. Minnie worked at Pierpont Elementary School cafeteria, in Dunbar, while her daughters were in school there.
She worked hard in the Dunbar Church of the Nazarene. Minnie sang in the choir, sang solos and led the choir for a while. She served as church treasurer for several years and was on various church committees.
Minnie would go to Sunbridge Nursing Home and lead everyone in song each week and visited with the shut-ins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Shawn Spangler.
Minnie is survived by her husband of 67 years, Denver Turley; daughters, Donna Brown and her husband, Perry Brown, of Scott Depot, Bonnie Wolfarth of Mt. Juliet, TN, Evelyn Spangler of Winfield and Debbie Haynes and her husband, Scot, of Hermitage, TN; grandchildren, Jeff Turley, Eric Brown, Shannon Melville, Amber Curry, Ashley Nygren, and Justin Wolfarth; step-grandson, Eric Spangler of Milton; great-grandchildren, Reilly Melville and Luke Curry.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 27 at Dunbar Church of the Nazarene with the Reverend Greg Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 26 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
