Myrna L.
Davis
December 30, 1936 – June 16, 2025
Myrna L. Davis, 88, of South Charleston, was welcomed into Heaven the early morning of June 16, 2025.
She was born on December 30, 1936, in Kanawha County to Oscar and Annis Moore.
Myrna spent her final days as she wished, surrounded by her loving family and friends in the comfort of her home. She loved her Savior Jesus, and she is undoubtedly rejoicing in Heaven even as we mourn her absence from our lives. She fought the good fight, she finished her course, and she kept her faith. Myrna was loved and respected by her family, friends, and co-workers. She began her career at Thomas Hospital alongside her mother in 1966. She then went on to become the Laundry Supervisor. She loved her job and very proudly devoted 58 years of loyal service to the hospital. Thomas was her home away from home, filled with people she loved, and in her heart considered family. She left an everlasting presence in that laundry room and hospital that will be missed by many who love her. Myrna was a very talented seamstress, capable of making or fixing anything, and was a very dedicated West Virginia Mountaineer fan. Myrna had the biggest heart and was so easy to love and she will be hard to forget. With heavy hearts we pray that you fly high and rest easy, we love you so much.
Myrna was greeted into Heaven by the loving arms of her parents, Oscar and Annis Moore; sister, Leona Byrd; her husband and love of her life of 50 years, Jackson E. Davis "Paps"; children, Pam and Jack (Junnie) Davis; and grandson, Craig Davis.
Left to enjoy the memories of her life are her best friend and caregiver, her daughter, Debbie Mallory, along with her husband David Mallory, who was a son to Myrna; her sister, Naomi (Chet) Miller. She is also survived by her son In-law, Joe Cantrell; grandchildren, Jessy Davis, Sarah Davis, Tony (Tammy) Rucker, Jason Davis, Christine and James Jenkins; great grandchildren, Codie (Amber) Davis, Brooklynn, Isaiah, Isabell, Addyson, Braxton, Kinslee, Clay, Brent, Kayla, Felicia, Brooke, Baby J, Rechelle, and Jackson; great-great-grandchildren, Coalton, Carson, Craig, Meilani, and several others; and five nieces and five nephews.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Hospice Care for their support. They would also like to express special appreciation to Amber Davis, who loved and remained by Myrna's side during her final days and was holding her hand until the end of her journey.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30p.m. on Thursday July 3, 2025, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Pastor Charles Shelton officiating.
