Nancy Bossie, 86, of Dunbar, passed away on December 29, 2017. She was born June 8, 1931, to the late Watson and Edna Elkins.

Nancy grew up in Ashford and attended Sherman High School in Boone County. She later worked for C&P Telephone Company and AT&T for 47 years, and also served the Communication Workers of America, Local 2001. She worked tirelessly while also raising her four children, displaying a strength and work ethic that has inspired them throughout their lives. Nancy was independent and strong, a proud West Virginian, and loved her family fiercely (with the Mountaineers coming in a close second). Her love for family is her legacy, and will live on for generations to come.

Survivors include her children, Kim Alexander, George Bossie III, and Sherry Bossie; sister, Christine Snyder; grandchildren, Sheena Ashley, Rachel Mann, Whitney Stein, and Kaitlyn Kreager; and great-grandchildren, Orion Mann and Evan Ashley.

Nancy was preceded in death by her daughter, Jill Bossie, and her siblings, Willis Elkins, Leon Cornell, and Eva Lee Smith.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

Family and friends may gather from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., prior to the service, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to West Virginia University.
