Obituary

Nancy Casto, 81, of Charleston, West Virginia, left her earthly home and ran into the arms of Jesus on December 8, 2025.

Born and raised in Charleston, Nancy devoted her life to faith and family.

She retired from Sugar Baskets, a business she and her niece, Darlena Smith, proudly built and operated together in South Charleston.

Nancy loved the Lord deeply.  Her faith was the foundation of her life, and her family was her greatest treasure.  She lived with unmatched bravery and strength, meeting every challenge with grace, courage, and unwavering trust in God.  She was fiercely protective of her daughters and grandchildren, loving them with a selfless and steadfast devotion.  She cherished her church community and found immense joy in her beloved sewing group, affectionately known as the Go-Go Girls.  Their friendship was a gift she treasured

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and Ernest Lanham; and her sisters, Ardith Haynes, Tina Pritt, and Doris Hall.

Nancy is survived by her daughters, Denise Langmaack (Jack) of Odessa, Florida, and Nicole King (Steve) of Ripley, West Virginia.  She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, John and Michael Langmaack, Steven King, Samantha Parsons, and Paige Haas; along with her nine great-grandchildren, all of whom brought endless joy to her days.

Nancy became everyone's "Dear Abby"— a steady voice of wisdom, comfort, and calm for all who knew her.  She was a rock to many and a safe place to land when life felt overwhelming.  While we cannot imaging life without her, we rejoice in knowing that heaven is sweeter with her there.  Nancy often spoke of her excitement to see Jesus in all His glory and to be reunited with the loved ones who went before her.  Her legacy is one of faith, kindness, strength, and unconditional love — a gift she leaves with all who knew her.

A special 'thank you' to CAMC General 7 South Nurse Manager and staff for their care and kindness.
