Nancy Jane Hughes, 81, of Barboursville, formerly of South Charleston, was called home to Heaven July 25, 2007, after a long illness.

Nancy was born on Sept. 14, 1925 to Nathan Goff and Ida Mae Bays. She was married to Sydney Eugene Hughes on Dec. 26, 1945. Nancy was a member of the North Charleston Apostolic Church. She loved to sew and did many craft shows with her two daughters.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband, Sydney Eugene Hughes, her five brothers, one sister and her son, Randy David Hughes.

Mrs. Hughes is survived by her daughters, Deborah Jean Smith and Patricia Ann Trickett and her husband, James, all of Barboursville. Also surviving are her grandchildren, JoAnna Dawn Smith, Laila Marie Hughes and Sydney Gayle Rowsey, all of South Charleston, James Eugene Trickett and wife, Jennifer Jo and great grandson, Corey Mitchell Perdue of Proctorville, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 30, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Jim Burgess and Eugene Trickett officiating. Music will be provided by Carol Eads. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, July 29, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

Nancy will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to express their overwhelming gratitude to the Hospice House of Huntington, Hospice in home care and to her caregiver, Jerri from SCAC.
