Mobley
June 25, 1953 – September 3, 2024
Nancy Lee Mobley, 71, a 50 year resident of Dunbar passed peacefully at Hubbard Hospice House West in South Charleston on September 3, 2024 after a long but courageous battle with Neuroendocrine Tumor Syndrome and COPD/Emphysema.
She was born on June 25, 1953, the third of six children to the late Harry Province, Sr. and Betty Creathers Province, in Sharon, WV.
A graduate of East Bank High School, she was a homemaker then worked at the Dunbar Toll Bridge until its closure at which time she became a home health aide until retirement. Nancy's favorite activities were bingo, traveling, tending to her flowers and rose bushes, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was always known for her kind and caring heart putting the needs of others before her own. Her nickname was "Nice Nancy" in her circle of friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, James D.; sisters, Rose Wheaton of Fostoria, MI and Sandra Province of Dunbar.
Nancy is survived by her only child, a daughter who she considered her best friend, Penny "Midge" Tippie of Fayetteville, NC; greatly loved and cherished grandchildren, Allyson and Sophia Strother and Marc Harper; sisters, Bertie Evans of Burton, MI and Barbara Bonds of Sharon, WV; brother, Harry Province, Jr. of Institute; special sisters-in-law, Edith Payne of Dunbar, Glenda Mobley of Chelyan; along with many special nieces and nephews; two great nieces, Jazlynn and Amber, who were like granddaughters to her.
The family would like to extend a special "thanks" to WVU/Thomas ER and ICU doctors, nurses, staff, and to Hubbard Hospice House West, as well as two sets of incredible neighbors who always looked out for her.
