Nella May McGhee, 88, of South Charleston, passed away at home on Monday, August 16, 2021.

She was born on May 23, 1933 at home, in South Charleston, to the late James McGhee and Nora Songer.

Nella was the backbone of our family. She was strong and worked hard and will forever be loved and missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Sue Massey.

Nella is survived by her son, Darrell "Bo" Sandlin (Helen) of South Charleston; daughters, Osia Carrier and Robin Gillispie both of South Charleston; four grandchildren, Leighanna Dolin, Jennifer Sandlin, Amy Miller and Jessica Kidd; six great-grandchildren, Faith Wilson, John Wilson III, Nathaniel King, Clayton Cottrill, Jackson Cecil and Connor Worley; as well as many more family members and friends.

Thanks to everyone for their help and compassion.

Per Nella's request, there will be no service.
