Nelson Alexander Sorah, 64, of Charleston, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2011, at the Cleveland Clinic.
He was the Deputy State Treasurer for the State of West Virginia. He was a native of Welch, and attended the Spring Hill Baptist Church. Nelson was an avid fly fisherman and was a devoted husband and father.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Sorah; brothers, Elmer, James, Donald and Joe and sister, Marcella.
Surviving are his loving wife, Kelly Sorah; son, Andy Sorah at home; mother, Margaret Sorah of Welch; sister, Sheila Belcher of Princeton, WV.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 9, at the Spring Hill Baptist Church, 4707 Ohio Avenue, South Charleston, WV 25309, with Pastor Mark Patton officiating.
There will be a gathering of family and friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the name of Andy Sorah, toward a 529 saving account at any BB&T location.
Nelson was much loved by Kelly, Andy and will be sorely missed by them and his entire family.
