Newt Coleman, 84, of St. Albans, passed away peacefully June 23, 2009, at Hubbard Hospice House.
Newt was born August 16, 1924, in Grant's Branch, Ky, son of the late Thomas and Nancy Coleman. He was a World War II Air Force veteran and was retired from Kettering Baking Co. in Fairmont, where he was employed as General Sales Manager. He was a member of Cross Lanes Baptist Church where his wife Margaret and he enjoyed spending time with their "Young-At-Heart" friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jill Anne Miller.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 62 years, Margaret Ann Coleman; daughter and son-in-law, Ginger and Roger Harrison of Cross Lanes; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Caroline Coleman of Charleston; grandchildren, Brian and Beth (Miller) Lively and Megan and Adam Harrison; and sister, Beatrice Smith.
A celebration of his life will take place at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 27, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor Seth Polk officiating. Entombment will be at Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Friday, June 26, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
