Nya Marie Terry, 18, of Charleston, was called home to become a beautiful angel in Heaven on Saturday, August 20, 2022.

She was born in Charleston on January 21, 2004 to Katrina Ellen Artis and Brian D Terry.

Nya was previous student of George Washington High School and Carver Career Center.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Gregory Harris; and her maternal aunt, Cassandra Artis-Ice.

In addition to her parents, left to cherish Nya's precious memory is her beloved brothers, Na'Shawn Malik Artis, Nasir Malachi Artis and Nahmir Mason Artis; maternal grandmother, Candis Artis (Calvin Medley); paternal grandmother, Lisa Terry; maternal aunts, Jessica Artis, Lekesha Artis-Tuner and Janelle Artis, who was more like her big sister; great-uncle, Dana Dew; "Mommy" Sybil Watkins and "Granny" Lynn and their families; as well as many cousins and other family members.

Nya was so loved by so many and she leaves behind so many friends that she loved as well.

A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, August 27, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with the Rev. Matthew Watts officiating.

Friends may visit two hours prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
