Oliver Meriel Hicks' Obituary
Oliver Meriel Hicks, 63, of Tornado, passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2010.
Oliver served his country in the US Army. He retired from Ameristell Corporation, after 24 years of service. He was a 1966 graduate of Charleston High School. He was a member of Charleston Mountain Mission and American Legion.
Mr. Hicks is survived by his daughters, Cynthia McCormick of Cary, NC, Traci Hicks of Charleston; brother, Lonnie Hicks, Jr. of Dunbar; sisters, Betty Jane Tompkins of Durham, NC, Nadene Burton of Salisbury, NC, Erana Walker of Dunbar, Wilma L. Carter of Charleston, Wanda Pierson of Charleston; 3 grandchildren, Donte Haynes, Tre Hicks, Macy Hicks.
Special thanks and gratitude is extended to Kenneth A. Smith for over 15 years of care.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 29, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Fairley McCormick and the Rev. Pete Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Gardens of Memories, Pocatalico.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: HospiceCare, 1606 Kanawha Blvd, W., Charleston, WV 25312.
