Ovie Eugene Wolfe, 89, of Charleston, passed away Friday, September 26, 2008, at his home after a long battle with Alzheimers and cancer.
He was born March 12, 1919 to the late Omar and Mary Alice "Molly" Rhodes Wolfe. He was also preceded in death by his son, Ovie E. Wolfe, Jr. and brother, Romie Smith "Smitty" Wolfe.
Mr. Wolfe retired from the Kroger Company after 32 years of service. He was a member of the Teamsters' Local #175 and the American Saddlebred Association in Lexington, KY.
His survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Ila Bailey Wolfe; daughters, Ava Carol Bibbee and her husband Larry and Kay Hinkley and her husband, Ralph of Charleston; sister, Geraldine Roush of Charleston; grandsons, Michael Bibbee of Texas and Anthony Hinkley of Charleston; granddaughters, Debbie Wolfe and Kimberly Persinger of Charleston; and eleven great grandchildren. He is also survived by his special sister-in-law, Ava Vannoy.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, September 29, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Paul Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, September 28, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
