It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Pastor John Leslie Moore, 78, of Saint Albans, West Virginia on May 9, 2025. He passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Savior.

Born on March 31, 1947 to the late Harold Junior Moore and Jessie Mae Taylor Moore, John was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and Pastor in Saint Albans. He shared 47 years of marriage with his late wife, Garnet Ruth Moore.

John is preceded in death by his parents and wife, as well as his son, John H. (Jay) Moore; daughter, Leslie Moore Taylor; grandchild, Jeffery Allen Moore; siblings, Diana Moore Ennis, Jackie Lee Cunningham Peterson, James Cecil Moore and James E. Cunningham.

John is survived by his son, Robert "Bobby" Lee Moore of Saint Albans. He is also survived by two brothers, Alfred Lee "Butch" Moore of Cross Lanes, WV and Jerry Arthur Moore of Baker, WV; three sisters, Brenda Joyce Fore of Bancroft, WV, Sandy Jean Evans of OH, and Mary Harris of Albemarle, NC; five grandchildren, Danielle Nicole Taylor formerly of Hurricane, WV,  Kris Averi Rose of Nitro, WV, Josh Wayne Taylor formerly of Hurricane, WV, Jesse Lee Moore of Saint Albans, WV, and Brandon Mathew Taylor formerly of Hurricane, WV; alongside with 3 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

John had many friends who will all cherish their time together, memories, and fellowship.  He will be deeply missed by all who know and love him.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at Grandview Memorial Park Dunbar.
