Patricia Ann Malone was born in Charleston on September 26, 1938 and departed this life peacefully on October 28, 2017 after a long illness.
Pat was born to the late Ottie Jane Badger and Edward Ted Brown. When she was a teenager her mother passed and her dear aunt, Vivian Badger better known as Tootsie continued raising her. Pat was a Charleston native, educated in the Kanawha County School system. She graduated Charleston Beauty Collage and worked in several area shops. Her love for people led her to working as a caregiver for Kanawha Valley Senior Services. She later worked and retired from Hardee's. Pat met her lifelong friend, Titus I. Thomas, Jr., who is the father of her children.
Patricia was a loving and devoted mother to Cheryl, Irvin, Robert, Karen, Valerie, Marvin and Norman. She cared for their grandmother and aunts during their illness. She also cared for her father until his death.
On Christmas Eve 1989, Pat married Otis Malone. She was a loving and devoted wife until his death in 1993.
She leaves to mourn her passing, daughters, Cheryl (Jon) Green of Charleston, Karen Cooper of Atlanta, GA and Valerie of Charleston; sons, Irvin, Robert, Marvin (Denise) and Norman of Charleston; brother, Edward Brown, Jr. of Charleston; grandchildren, Iva Thomas, William Gregory, Shatae, Sade'. Briana, and Santana Thomas all of Charleston, Robert Jr. and Sarah Thomas of Atlanta, GA; great-grandchildren, Lorenzo (C.J.), Laren and Larell Venson of Dunbar, William Gregory, of Charleston; great-great grandchild Zomari Venson; step-grandchildren Monica, Jon, and Shakira Green; special friend and caregiver Donnie Fyall.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday November 4 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. Burial will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
