Paty Catherine Showalter, 78, of Dunbar, passed away peacefully with her family by her side. She left this life on earth to be with our Lord on December 3, 2020.
She was born February 17, 1942 in Pikeville, KY to the late Luther and Nellie Showalter and was the youngest of six siblings.
Paty was retired from Sears and was a longtime member of Trinity Christian Church. She was known for her smile, positive attitude, and warm heart. Paty loved going to church, spending time with her family and friends, hunting and fishing. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend that will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Eldridge and Raymond; and sister, Naomi Shouldis.
Paty is survived by her daughters, Lisa Wiles of St. Albans and Jane Daiber (Mike) of Bucyrus, OH; brother, Joe "Jay" (Fran) of Winfield; sister, Mary Elizabeth "Lib" Smithson of FL; grandchildren, James "Andrew" Wiles (Lori) of Peytona, Rachael Atkins (Andrew), Kailah Hildebrand (Josh), Nathan Sterrett (Jessica), Faith Leibolt (Matthew) and Isaac Sterrett, all of OH; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Whaley and his team, Dr. Lucente and the ICU staff at CAMC General Hospital. We would also like to thank her caregiver, Nancy Galvan, who took wonderful care of her; service coordinator, Jeremiah Ege, who helped her with many things; and everyone at Dunbar Towers who checked on her, brought her food and went with her outside to walk or sit. We so much appreciate it.
A celebration of Paty's life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 12, at Keller's Funeral Home, Dunbar with Rev. Terry Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.
Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
