Paul Allen
Baria
January 16, 1947 – June 26, 2021
Paul Allen Baria, 74, of Charleston, passed away on June 26, 2021 from an unexpected heart attack.
He was born on January 16, 1947, in Charleston, to the late, George A. and Clenna Baria.
Paul was a proud US Army Veteran, who served in the Vietnam War. He lived an interesting life with many tales, from having to walk uphill both ways in a blizzard to get to school, to his time in the military, to when he would beat some of his golf buddies in a game. Paul loved playing ping-pong, shooting pool, watching and playing golf, watching dirt track races, and just shooting the hay with friends and family. He always had a joke and was quick with a smile. Paul will be sadly missed by all those who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, George, Alfonse "Bill", and Charles "Charlie" Baria; and sisters, Gloria Thompson and Loretta McCray.
Paul is survived by his brother, Robert "Bob" Baria; sisters Julia Monk, Mary Campbell, Betty McConnell and Sue Webb; children, Lori Griffin, Stacy Baria, Michael Baria, PJ Baria and Brittany Fowler; grandchildren, Casey Baria, Greydon Baria and Eli Baria; and many other loving family members.
Even though a failing heart took him from this world, his humor and entertaining spirit will shine down on all of those who knew him.
The family would like to thank the staff of Visiting Angels and Mountaineer Home Healthcare for the wonderful care provided to him over the past few years.
A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, July 12, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Pastor David Keeney officiating. Inurnment will follow in Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar.
