Paul Harlan Jarvis

Paul Harlan Jarvis, 86, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2026, at Genesis Nursing Home, Hurricane, WV. He was born July 2, 1940, in Charleston, WV.

Harlan attended Grandview Elementary, Lincoln Junior High, and graduated from Stonewall Jackson in 1959.

He married the love of his life, Delores Anne Harrison, in 1963. They made their home in Dunbar, WV, for 63 years.

He was an avid muscle car enthusiast and hunter. In his early days, he was a member of “Traction Masters Car Club” from 1957-1962; a member of NRA for over 50 years; and a member of UMWA.

He worked for Evans Super Market from 1958-1965; National Cash Register (NCR) from 1965-1977. He also worked as a heavy equipment operator for Princess Susan Coal Company and Hawks Nest Mining until his retirement.

Delores pre-deceased Harland in March 2026.

Those left to cherish his memories are his brother, Gary Jarvis (Sandra Sakap) of Fraziers Bottom, WV; Diane Patton (David) of Dunbar, WV; and Debbie Lanham (William) of Hoschton, GE. He leaves behind five nieces and one nephew.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 16, 2026, at Grandview Memorial Park, 1313 Hillview Drive, Dunbar, WV 25064 with Bishop Mosley officiating.

Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
