Paul Lee "PeeWee" Pauley, 81, of Dunbar, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2009 at home after a sudden illness.
He was born March 15, 1928 at Alcott and was the son of the late Fred and Velma Hager Pauley. Mr. Pauley was a US Air Force veteran and worked for Chemical Tank Lines and Union Carbide. He was of the Catholic faith and was an avid gardener.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Fred Jr. Pauley and Charles Pauley.
Surviving are his longtime companion, Lorena Kay Gillispie and her children, Anna Spencer, Nathan Gillispie and Teresa Barnhart. Also surviving are his daughter, Barbara Ann Selman of South Charleston; son, Randy Pauley of Bancroft; grandchild, Melina Jewell of Bancroft; great grandchild, Londyn Jewell; sisters, Clara Griffith of South Charleston, Louise Brua and Ella Ray Fitzwater of Alum Creek and Rachel Waldron of Elkview.
It was his request to be cremated. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 3, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Eldon Fitzwater officiating. His final resting place will be Graceland Memorial Park.
