Paul R. Shafer's Obituary
Paul R. Shafer, 75, of Dunbar, went to his heavenly home on Monday, February 20, 2006.
Paul was born December 8, 1930, the son of the late Dennis and Bertha Shafer, in Roane County. His sister, Geneva Young, also preceded him in death.
Paul retired after 30 years of service, from Union Carbide and Rhone Poulenc. After retirement, he worked for Quick Delivery, R & J Supply & Services, and CIS Delivery. He was a member of Cross Lanes Baptist Church, and a former member of Dunbar First Baptist Church.
Mr. Shafer is survived by his wife, Georgia Shafer; sons, Rick Shafer of Dunbar, Randy and Susie Shafer of Martinsburg; granddaughter, Kacy Shafer of Martinsburg; sister, Eloise Montgomery of Indiana.
Celebration of Paul's homegoing will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 23, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor Seth Polk officiating. Burial will follow in Rocky Branch Cemetery, Walton.
Visitation with family and friends will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, February 22, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, and one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Cross Lanes Baptist Church Building Fund, 201 Knollwood Drive, Cross Lanes, WV 25313, in Paul's memory.
