Peggy J. Young, 81, of Dunbar, died at St. Francis Hospital, Sunday, March 8, 2009.

She was born March 19, 1927, the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Larabee.

Peggy retired from the United Bank (former Bank of Dunbar) after 32 years. She was a former 4-H Leader in Dunbar, loved working in her flowers and was a member of the Humphrey's Memorial United Methodist Church, Dunbar.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul W. Young, Sr; brothers, Ralph, Arnold, Robert, Kenneth and Benton Larabee; sisters, Garnet Ballard, Edith Thompson, Nell Brown and Evelyn Bruno.

Peggy dearly loved her family and is survived by her son, Paul Young and his wife, Anita of Chesapeake, VA; daughter, Beverly Luikart and her husband, Ronnie of Eleanor; grandsons, Jeremy and Ryan Young of Chesapeake, VA; Stephen Luikart and his wife, Megan of Dunmore; granddaughter, Stacy Luikart of Dunbar; great grandchildren, Allie, Delania and Colten Luikart of Dunmore and Brandon Young of Chesapeake, VA. Also surviving are her brother, Stanley Larabee of Chardon, OH; sister, Margaret Hodges of Charleston. Peggy is also survived by a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 11, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. David Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 10, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of St. Francis Hospital and SweetBrier Assisted Living for all the loving care you gave "Granny" during her stay there. It was truly appreciated. And to Wanda, thanks for spoiling Peg, the family will never forget it.
