Pennie Louise Anderson, 59, of Jacksonville, NC, formerly of Dunbar, passed away on January 5, 2022 with her family by her side.

Pennie loved soaking up the sun, especially when camping and at the beach. She loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them. Pennie held a special place in her heart for her beloved dog, Mitsy. Pennie was a CNA and was formerly employed by Saint Francis and Thomas Memorial Hospitals.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, who raised and adopted her, Wilmer and Laura Anderson; sister, Debbie Leedy; father, Claude Anderson; brothers, Stephen, Larry and Gary Anderson.

Pennie is survived by her son, James Braxton (Sandra); life partner, Ed Leedy; and sisters, Amy Duncan (John), Leslie Wright (John), and Lisa Anderson.

A funeral service will be held at 1p.m. on Wednesday, January 12, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.

Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
