Penny Shaffer, age 69, of Peachtree City, GA., passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2010.
She was born in Charleston and was the daughter of Peter, Jr. and Bonnie Biagi of Charleston and sister of Paula Young of Elkview and Peter Biagi, III of Teays Valley.
She is survived by her parents and siblings; her husband of 50 years, Larry Sr.; as well as four sons, Larry, Jr., and wife, Sue of Fayetteville, GA, Gregory and wife, Dotty, of Dallas TX, Jeffery and wife, Lisa, also of Dallas, TX and Rodney of Washington, DC. Penny was grandmother to eight beautiful grandchildren.
Penny's life had taken her all over with world. She lived in France, Japan and Germany, and throughout the U.S. In addition to raising four wonderful sons and caring for a loving husband, she skied the Swiss Alps, climbed Mt. Fuji and rode camels through the desert while exploring Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Penny had a passion for dancing, baking and traditional crafts. She was an extraordinary woman, wife and mother.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., Thursday, December 2, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 1, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
