Phyllis Marie Dent, affectionately known as "Meems", age 93, passed away November 3, 2018.

She was born July 29, 1925 in Charleston, WV to the late Burt and Hazel Harkins. She married the love of her life, Delbert Dent on July 15, 1950. He preceded her in death on January 13, 1992.

Phyllis loved to quilt and crochet. She had the most beautiful flowers, immaculate yard and house. She loved the outdoors and walking in the woods. All stray animals always found a home with Phyllis. Even though she never drove a car, it didn't stop her from traveling the Kanawha Valley. She was an expert on riding the KRT bus line, where she made many friends. Phyllis was a retired sales clerk from Stone and Thomas.

In addition to her husband and parents Phyllis was preceded in death by brothers, Kermit and James Harkins.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Taylor (Scott); grandchildren, Scott and Krista (Robbie); four great grandchildren whom she adored, Kaitlyn, Lucas, Caden, and Zoey; and brother, Paul Harkins (Jayne).

In addition to her family she is survived by her fur babies, Sweet Little Boy, Ridgely, and her cuddle buddy, Itty.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Dunbar Center and their employees who went above and beyond in their love and care in her last months.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 6 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
