Obituary

Phyllis Madelyn Gumm Knight, 88, of Fayetteville, GA, formerly of Charleston, went home to be with the Lord on November 24, 2018.

She was born on December 21, 1929, in Clarksburg, to the late Carl Raymond Gumm and Carrie Hodgkiss Gumm.

Phyllis was a graduate of Victory High School, class of 1947 and attended Morris Harvey College. She was employed by the West Virginia Department of Highways and retired with 24 years of service. Phyllis was a lifelong member of The Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 88 with 50 years of service. She was also a member of The Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem No. 7, Beni Kedem Shrine Ladies Widows Club, Almost Heaven Chorus, Sweet Adeline, and The Weekly E.U.B. Memorial Church.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry Martin Knight; sisters, Helen Lorraine Caloccia and Audrey Irene Cabo; nephew, Mathew Sendling; and granddaughter, Carrie Francis Quickle.

Phyllis is survived by her children, Yvonne Elaine Price (Dr. Earl Price), Stephanie Jane Quickle (Dusty Quickle), and Wayne Henry Knight (Dianna Sharp Knight); grandchildren, Melissa Pritcher (Chris), Dr. Andrew Price (Arthi), Dusty Quickle (Candice), Jessica Ewing (Timothy), and Clayton Knight (Courtny); and nine great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 1 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Pastor Erin Daniels officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memorial Gardens, Cross Lanes.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
