Phyllis Jean “PJ” Lanham, 67 years young, passed away on April 25, 2026 surrounded by peace, love and family at her home in Red House, WV.

She was born in South Charleston, WV on October 25, 1958 to her proud parents Thomas R. and Betty L. Mace.

She attended South Charleston High School, and lived in the town of Eleanor for most of her life. She worked in town at many different places, so she was known within the community where she raised her own two children plus many more. She was a second mother to most and a mentor to others.

Later in life she became all about her five grandchildren that she absolutely adored. Family always came first. If you knew Phyllis, she was either your second mom, your sister, or a best friend you didn’t know you needed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steven B. Lanham, and her little sister, Patricia A. Skeens.

She is survived by her daughter, Christy Torres (Caleb) and their children, Christian Tucker, Caden, and Cailee Torres; her son, Steven T. Lanham (Lindsay) and their children, Austin and Alyvia Lanham; her four sisters, Jeanie Mallory (Kenny), Teresa Ervin (Junior), Debbie Withrow (Roger), and Bessie Hoffman (David); a slew of nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews; along with many loving friends.

Services will be held at a later date not yet determined.

Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
