March 2, 1930 – December 31, 2017
Phyllis Bays Mallory of St. Albans, formerly of South Charleston and Luling, LA passed away on December 31, 2017 after a long illness.
She was born in Spring Hill on March 2, 1930 to the late Rome C and Beatrice L. Bays.
Phyllis worked for Union Carbide, South Charleston and was a teacher in St. Charles Parish, LA.
She accepted Christ as her Savior at St. Luke Methodist Church in Spring Hill. Phyllis was a former member of Spring Hill Baptist Church and Bible Center Church, Luling, LA where she was a member of both the choirs. Phyllis was currently a member of Twin City Bible Church, Nitro.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Burl A. Mallory; son, Mitchell Lee Mallory; sister, Freda Fox, infant brother, Kenneth Bays; and sister-in-law, Alice Jo Bays.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Tianna M. Butler (Champe) of St. Albans; daughter-in-law, Connie Mallory of Conroe, TX; two grandsons, John Thomas Harmon IV (Kelly) of Luling, LA and David C. Mallory (Michelle) of Conroe, TX; eight greatgrandchildren, Haley, Hunter, Jalin and Charleigh Harmon, Ethan, Joel, Isiah and Lydia Mallory; sister, Janet Snodgrass (Alonzo) of Spring Hill; brother, Buck Bays of Spring Hill; brother-in-law, Kenny Fox of Spring Hill, sisters-in-law, Reba Medley of St. Albans and Dottie Mallory of St. Albans; brother-in-law, Bob Mallory of Ocoee, FL; many nieces and nephews, whom she loved; and her church family.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Twin City Bible Church with Pastor Scott Bandy officiating.
Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Twin City Bible Church, 100 1 st Ave, Nitro, WV 25143.
Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
