Smalley Cooper

Phyllis Jean Smalley Cooper was 87 when the Lord decided it was time for her receive her angel wings while at home in Portsmouth, Virginia.
Her Sunrise was October 22, 1935. Her Sunset was September 2, 2023.
She was welcomed into the world in Charleston, West Virginia by her parents, the late Otho and Irene Hughart Smalley.
Phyllis was an avid reader and passed on her love of reading to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also liked her computer, and keeping in touch with family and friends.
Phyllis was a volunteer at the Dunbar Hospice Office for many years until ill health made it impossible. She was a Protestant, and was a former member of the Eastern Star.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Cooper.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Cooper; daughters, Mia Martin and Sherry Deal; brother, Carl Smalley; along with seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Phyllis will be cremated, and buried in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens , Cross Lanes, West Virginia at a later date.
Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
