Phyllis Jean Wood, 72, died March 5, 2011, with her family by her side at Southern Regional Hospital, Riverdale, Georgia after a long illness.
The Family will be celebrating her life Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, March 12 at Keller Funeral Home in Dunbar.
Phyllis was born June 2, 1939, in Dunbar to Thomas and Georgia Trent. She is a graduate of Dunbar High School. Phyllis retired from Union Carbide, Institute, and was a lifelong resident of Dunbar until 2010 where she moved to Morrow, GA.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; Thomas and Georgia Trent; her sister, Linda Gay Brown. Phyllis is survived by her children; daughter, Dianna Knight and husband Wayne and their children, Jessica and Clayton; son, Doug Sharp and wife Tammy and their children, Justin and Joshua; stepdaughter, Terri Mollohan and husband Mike and their daughter Stephanie; stepson, Jerry Lee Wood; brother, Jeff Trent and wife Kay and their children Angie, Jeffery, and Cynthia; niece, Patti Kirk and partner Mary Elmore; nephew, Larry Kirk and wife Lisa and their children, Tripp and Brittany.
Phyllis was an avid lover of animals. Donations may be sent to the Dunbar Animal Hospital or your local animal shelter.
Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
